Grant McCracken explica no seu inspirador Chief Culture Officer como o interesse de Stve Jobs pela caligrafia ajudou ao êxito do Mac e da Apple:
"Without his calligraphy course, Job says, 'the Mac would never have multiple typefaces or proportionally spaced fonts.' And he says, 'It's likely that no personal computer would have them. If I had never droped in this calligraphy class, and personal computers might not have the wonderful typography that they do.'

"Thanks to Jobs and that course, Apple was unique in the tech space. Ot cared about beauty. And this gave it a strong connection to the creative community, which in turn supplied the corporation with a passionate supportive base."
